I'm Perry!
An Avid Film Enthusiast
I'm an aspiring filmmaker and I started my journey learning about photography and film since I was 14. I enjoy learning new things and have even grasped video editing and filming techniques through online platforms in the past years. I was the president of one of my secondary school's student leadership board. I've competed in many international and national film competition; I've even won in some, notably, N.E.mation and Amazing Photo Race back in 2017. I really enjoy working on projects with people. So, feel free to contact me for any business enquiries.

I am part of the 2019 cohort of students who graduated from SST. I graduated with a Cambridge 'O' levels certificate and I specialised in electronics. I was also given many opportunities to develop skills and knowledge on Google applications, Apple programs, entrepreneurship, innovation, design and many more.
2020 - 2022
Diploma in Film, Sound & Video
Passionate about the wonders of filmmaking, I proceed on my tertiary education in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, in the school of Film & Media Studies. Here, I am constantly exposed to many learning opportunities to expand my knowledge and application in the media and film industry while being surrounded by people with similar interests as me.
2018 - 2019
Chairperson of the Peer Support Board (PSB)
Being a member of PSB from 2016 to 2019, I collaborate with other leaders in planning school events such as "Secondary 1 Orientation Programme" and "Staff Appreciation Week" (Our rendition of teacher's day). By planning for these events, as a board, we aim to improve and promote positive school culture and support our peers in every way we can. As the chairperson, I lead the team of 50 student leaders from administrative work to the development of competent and responsible student leaders.
2016 - 2019
Member of SST Media Club
Since a young age, I've always liked to expose myself to different types of CCAs to find what I'm really passionate about. I'm pleased to say that with the extensive programmes in Media Club, I found great fascination towards filmmaking. In the 4 years, I was able to hone my skills in photography, editing, journalism, etc; not to mention soft skills such as communication and collaboration in a team, creative thinking and many more.
2020
Member of NP Hi! Club
Intrigued by the use of sign language in films such as 'A Quiet Place', I signed up for Hi! Club in NP to learn sign language. Specifically, I learnt the Sign Exact English 2 (SEE2) system but I was exposed to many different systems as well. I also took the opportunity to be a part of the event planning committee. With my experience and expertise, I was assigned to be a video editor as online events were prevalent at this time. I was mainly responsible for editing 'Song Signing' videos.
2020
Percussionist of NP Concert Band
Having siblings who play the instrument, I've always been interested in music and wanted to be able to play an instrument. However, the CCA variety in my Secondary school was limited and decided to pursue it in polytechnic. Fortunately, I was able to be a part of NP's Concert Band despite my lack of experiences and learning music theory on my own. I was blessed to have peers and seniors to guide me along the way. Despite the health and safety restrictions, I was still able to play music with my section and bonded well with the CCA.
Skills & Expertise
Photography
Photography has been a hobby of mine since 2016. Along with a photography module in polytechnic, I've mastered the basics of handling a camera. And since then, I've been continuing this activity to capture the moments in my own life and even those around me.
Video Editing
I challenged myself to edit a video back in 2017 and have since watched a myriad of tutorial videos online about editing. I adore editing as it was the thing that really opened the doors, for me, to filmmaking. To me, editing is limitless and I continue to work on my craft and learn software like Premiere Pro,
Presentation
Communication is a skill that I regard very highly since Secondary school. Thankfully, I was given a multitude of opportunity to improve on my presentation skills. Not to mention that I've been an emcee at many school events. I believe that it has developed my ability to share ideas with others and communicate better.
Film Making
From pre-production to post-production, I've learnt the basic procedures and the right methods to make stories into the picture. Not to mention that I've also taken the opportunities to take up different responsibilities of different roles in a shoot.
Google and Apple Applications
As part of SST's platform and method of teaching, I was exposed to the use of technology to apply the things I've learnt in the classroom. This included both Google and Apple applications in my individual or collaborative projects or my assignments.
Leadership & Collaboration
In terms of soft skills, I would say that I have extensive experience in the field of collaborative work. In the film industry, I believe that collaboration is pivotal in any situation. I am also not afraid of taking a leadership role in the team.

Life is like a book
You can't skip chapters. You have to read every line, meet every character. You won't enjoy all of it. You will read things you don't want to read, you will have moments when you don't want the pages to end. But you have to keep going. Stories keep the world revolving. Live yours, don't miss out.
